A POSITIVE VOICE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE HYDE PARK ESTATE

Pop Up Parties

To celebrate village life as well as engender community spirit, we are hosting a series of Pop Up Parties around the estate. These are small events on the first Saturday of every month, hosted by different local businesses. During each event you’ll have an opportunity to meet fellow residents from the retail sector, learn about their craft and sample their products.

Next party: To be confirmed

Previous parties

Saturday 5th March at London Chocolate

London Chocolate gave a fascinating insight into the highly-skilled art of chocolate making. During the event we heard how the pandemic gave founder Alex the opportunity to scour the globe looking for lost and forgotten cacao beans, resulting in the Connaught Shop now containing what is believed to be the widest variety of beans in one location. We saw the production facilities in the basement, and best of all had the opportunity to sample the hot chocolate, truffles, and chocolate bars that are sold in the shop. Guests left with their hands full! Many thanks to London Chocolate for hosting such an interesting event.

Recent arrival Eve Leibe Gallery very kindly hosted us for December’s Christmas pop-up party with fantastic mince pies and mulled wine. During the event we heard from Selena about Eve Leibe’s nomadic origins and how they felt at home and very welcome once they arrived in Connaught Village with its friendly community. Cecilia explained the current exhibition You Are What You Eat and how the pandemic inspired artist Nell Brookfield to create the vivid and sensual art on display.

Saturday 6th November at Mud Australia

We are very grateful for Mud Australia for hosting HyPER members at our Pop-Up party, where they very generously treated us to a variety of Australian wine. We enjoyed presentations from Emma and Olivia, revealing what lies behind their incredible porcelain and homewares, as well as hearing the history of Mud and how it started and arrived in Connaught Village.

Buchanans Cheesemonger

A huge thank you to Buchanans Cheesemonger for hosting our first pop up party. Attendees heard from Lucy how by being a specialist cheesemonger they are able to mature cheese until the point where it is in its perfect condition. It’s then supplied to London’s finest restaurants, with local residents of course also having the exclusive opportunity to purchase it at its best.
