We are excited about a number of new openings coming soon to Connaught Village. Read on for the latest news.
HyPER is often asked what is happening to the old Kurobuta restaurant on Kendal Street, which is currently being fitted-out. We’re pleased to say that this will be opening soon for a new all-day restaurant, which it is hoped will be open before Christmas. We can’t publish the full details yet, but we consider the new restaurant will be a great addition to the Village and we look forward to seeing it trading.
Continuing on the theme of food, at the other end of Porchester Place, La Maritxu will be opening at 12 Connaught Street (previously the site of Roni’s Bakery, although a pop-up for a few years now). Lucia started baking delicious Basque cheesecakes in her kitchen, and they proved so popular that she quit her job as an architect in order to bake them full-time. She now produces so many that she needs a dedicated location, and is opening this rather delightful looking unit as a permanent home.

Further along on Connaught Street a new bridal shop has opened on 39 Connaught Street (in the old knife shop). On the other side of the road at number 26, a pop-up shop has opened for potted plants, which will be in place until 30th December.
Back to Porchester Place, the observant amongst you will have noticed a new gallery and pottery pop-up at number 3, which is here until 21st December.

Finally, look out for the forthcoming Christmas Design Collective, a pop-up opening at 12 Porchester Place, showcasing independent brands such as Hum London, Colours of Arley, Domenica, Marland, TIDINGS, Faeger, Kokoro and Max Made Me. The shop’s inaugural day will be on Wednesday 22nd November when it will open at the same time as the switch-on of the Connaught Village Christmas lights. The pop-up will feature lots of great items suitable for Christmas gifts, so do get yourself down there and purchase something unique for that special person.
