Today, 3rd November, the famous London to Brighton car run takes place from Hyde Park to Brighton. The run started in 1896, in celebration of the lifting of restrictions that required a person to walk in front of a motor vehicle with a red flag warning of its approach.
The run is now organised annually by the Royal Automobile Club and formed of hundreds of vintage cars.
