A POSITIVE VOICE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE HYDE PARK ESTATE

Join Hyde Park Estate’s first play street this Friday!

A play street elsewhere in London

Do you remember your childhood days when you could play in the street? Well there is the chance to bring those memories back to life in a fun street play session this Friday 10th July 3:30pm-6:30pm on Hyde Park Crescent W2 2QD (outside St John’s Church).

Thanks to an organising team led by local residents, Active Westminster has granted a one-off temporary traffic restriction order just for the purpose of play. Bring your children or just yourself, and hopscotch your way into summer.

All games and toys are welcome, so please bring along balls, skipping ropes, scooters and outdoor toys. Instructors from Cycle Confident will also be present, and they are happy to work with those of all ages who want to brush up on their cycling skills. If you’d like to join in, bring along bikes and helmets for a session.

All ages are very welcome for this event – including older people in the community – bring a fold-up chair if you need one, perhaps a cup of tea too, and come for a relax and a chat.

The organising team is looking for any on the day helpers to manage traffic (no games refereeing required!). If you can spare the 3 hours on the day and 20mins for online training, please reply to this email and we will pass on the details. The more Street Makers the safer the session!

The street will be open for vehicles in order to access properties, whilst being closed to through-traffic.

We think this is a really positive event for our community, and hope to see you there!
