Transport for London has released proposals for changes to the junction of Sussex Gardens and Edgware Road. The intention is to make the junction safer for vulnerable road users and more accessible and pleasant for those on foot.
The proposals include:
- Removal of the slip road from Edgware Road (north) into Sussex Gardens
- Direct pedestrian crossings (instead of the multiple phases currently required)
- Countdown timers on all arms
- Pavement widening and green planting
