A POSITIVE VOICE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE HYDE PARK ESTATE

HyPER Remembers

Wreath laid on Remembrance Sunday

Spokesman, Chris Gunness, laid a wreath on behalf of HyPER members at a Service of Remembrance at the Memorial Cross in Lancaster Gate on 9 November. About one hundred people attended the ceremony, led by Father William Allen of St James Sussex Gardens, with Father Tim Hanley also officiating. In attendance were The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg and the Leader of Westminster, Councillor Adam Hug.

The Last Post was sounded and a two-minute silence was observed. Wreaths were laid by representatives of the Armed Forces, their associations in Paddington, local schools and housing associations. During the wreath laying, a brass band played Nimrod by Edward Elgar and the choir sang the anthem, ‘Upon your heart’ by Eleanor Daley. The dedication on HyPER’s card read “with gratitude for their service and sacrifice”.
